The (Promised) Future That You've Always Dreamt Of: @UoLstu22

As nostalgia traverses time and space, so did this projects’ avatar. I came to find my location/ third space to be online. This website is evidence that avatars can be used to create a dialogue that can be integrated into everyday life (via the web and video/ online games). With 'Locating Practices' I aimed to offer up a transitional space that combined reality with fiction and this website does just that by showing @UoLstu22’s journey from the digital to the physical and back to the digital again.

My next goal in my exploration of new/ digital media is to create a video game that will encourage further interaction with the avatar and, in turn, bring my artwork to new and potentially private locations.

In this decade of digital innovation, the web is a place to curate and to exercise control. Gone is the need to grieve your past, it’s all right here: online. I hope you enjoy revisiting the future that we were promised.
